SKATEISM is a series that captures my time with a vibrant slice of London’s skate scene in 2024.

Throughout my career, I’ve been drawn to the raw energy of subcultures, often focusing my lens on urban environments. When I was introduced to this particular skate community, I felt an immediate connection. Not only because of my own childhood spent on eight wheels, but because of the profound sense of refuge that this unassuming supermarket car park in North London offered.

It’s a sacred place where warmth, acceptance, and dedication thrive — a true testament to the power of community. The unique arrangement between the supermarket manager and the skaters defies stereotypes often associated with urban street culture, creating an atmosphere of mutual respect that is rare and refreshing.

This smooth-rolling, dry, free and safe space brings together multiple generations coming to skate, laugh, eat, and dance in harmony - forging friendships and building stories night after night.
